VENUS
A micro-short about breaking free from the jaws of destiny
(Sound design by Andrew Ramsay)

Process:
The piece started with part of my daily, stream-of-consciousness drawings in my sketchbook back in 2021.
I was just starting in 3D as well, so decided to bring it into Cinema 4D:
GNAWING DARKNESS
This film focuses on our connection to the dark, painful, and creepy elements of nature, and the difficulty in extracting full joy and presence out of individual moments and spaces. I wanted to play with the fantasy and mystery of what lingers in the shadows when the sun goes down.
The text is taken from an original writing of mine, and the footage is public domain archival footage that I have manipulated and collaged.
PLUCK
A piece about clearing one's mind...
Process:
Made by collaging material from vintage children's books and textbooks, then combined with cel animation.
Sound Design assisted by OMO (Javan Cain).
OCRACY
An extra odd, experimental animation that I created as part of my thesis at The University of Michigan.
The piece depicts a main character from a fruit harvesting society as she accidentally lands in a different world.
MY LITTLE PARASITE
Short auto-biographical animation that focuses on the often humorous struggles that my single mother had in raising the difficult child that I was. The piece indirectly became a way to tell my mom that I now acknowledge and appreciate everything that she did for me growing up. Audio provided by my lovely mother, Misty.
Received the Robert D. and Betsy D. Richards Award at the Penny W. Stamps' 2018 Undergraduate Juried Exhibition at the University of Michigan.
